"Yasurai Doll" to ward off epidemics, available only in summer, Imamiya Shrine

This is the specialty of Imamiya Shrine in Kyoto (aburi mochi).
This is the only place where you can eat aburi mochi!
And what makes this place special is that there are two aburi mochi shops directly opposite each other.
Both shops have different flavors, so most people compare them to see which one they prefer.
I went on a weekday and there were about 15 groups lined up. Both shops have large eating areas, so the turnover is fast and the wait time was about 15 minutes.
If you go with more than 3 people, it seems like a good idea to line up at both shops and then move between them.
When you sit down, you can choose the number of sticks you want, starting from 12. Tea is also included, so you can take a break.
Kinako mochi is grilled and dipped in miso-flavored sauce, and I got the impression that one shop was sweet and the other shop had a strong miso flavor!
I thought 12 sticks was a lot, but I ate it all up!
You can also take it home, so please go and try it!
