The lecture hall is the central building of Nanzenji Temple, where ceremonies and official memorial services are held. The original was burned down twice, and the current lecture hall was rebuilt in 1909. The ceiling is painted with a dragon, which is said to be the masterpiece of painter Imao Keinen. The principal deities Shaka Nyorai, Manjusri Bodhisattva, and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva are enshrined here. It is the building in front of you after passing through the Sanmon Gate.
