Summer resort in Kyoto: Kifune Shrine⛩️

#Travelwithme

In summer, Kyoto is a basin, so it's hot like a steam bath, but Kifune Shrine is in the mountains, so it's cool and full of negative ions, so it's a shrine I always visit in summer.

It's located at the source of the Kamo River that flows through Kyoto, and the main shrine enshrines the god who controls the water supply.
The main shrine is said to bring good luck and grant wishes.

In addition, the Yuisha shrine enshrines the god of matchmaking, and is famous for bringing good luck in matchmaking.
After Izumi Shikibu visited the shrine to try to get back her husband's love, the relationship between the couple was restored, so it's said that the shrine has the good luck of reconciliation...!

Kifune Shrine is said to be one of Japan's three major matchmaking shrines.

When visiting the shrine, the basic practice is to visit the main shrine, Yuisha shrine, and Okumiya in that order, which is called "sansha-mei," but if you want to make your wish for matchmaking or reconciliation come true, it's better to visit in the order of "Honmiya → Okumiya → Yuisha."

It's a little difficult to access from the city center, as you have to take a train and a bus, but it's a shrine that you should definitely visit.
