Stunning Views of Kyoto from Kiyomizu-dera ⛩️

To the East of Kyoto, nestled at the foot of the mountains is Kiyomizu-dera Temple. With bright coloured gates and pavilions, along with an incredible view of the city, this is place is not to be missed!

🏔️🎎 As you head up the hill through the narrow streets, passing by many people dressed in traditional clothing, souvenir shops and restaurants with local snacks, you will eventually reach the big open space before Kiyomizu-dera.

⛩️ Overlooking the city, the views are magnificent on a clear and sunny day～ the perfect spot for photos. Although it can get quite crowded, so I recommend waking up early to avoid the crowds.

🌸🍁 Kiyomizu-dera is most popular in the spring and autumn times, when the colours of the leaves and flowers transforms the surroundings entirely. I was lucky enough to experience the cherry blossoms here and can confirm it is absolutely breathtaking!
