A must-visit destination in Kyoto 🇯🇵 is none other than Kiyomizu-dera – The Temple of Pure Water 🌸
Located on a hill, it offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Kyoto city 🏯
👣 The path to the temple passes through the historic streets of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, charming stone-paved roads lined with souvenir shops, tea houses, and Japanese sweet shops 🍡. It's a delightful walk, full of traditional Japanese atmosphere.
Along the way, you'll see people dressed in kimonos taking photos, adding to the authentic Japanese vibe 🇯🇵💖
✨ The highlight of the temple is its large wooden terrace that juts out from the cliff, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and trees 🍃.
Visiting during cherry blossom or autumn foliage season is an unforgettable experience 🌸🍁
💧 At the base of the temple is the sacred Otowa no taki waterfall (音羽の滝),
which splits into three streams. Each stream is believed to grant a different blessing: health, love, and academic success 📖❤️✨
(But they say not to drink from all three streams, as it might be considered greedy 😆)
🚇 How to get there:
• From Kyoto Station 京都駅, take bus number 100 or 206 → Get off at Gojo-zaka or Kiyomizu-michi and walk uphill for about 10–15 minutes.
🎫 Admission fee: 400 yen
🩷 In summary, this temple is not only beautiful in itself but also surrounded by the full essence of Kyoto's charm. The walk is enjoyable, and though it might be a bit tiring, every step is worth it 🌸
