Fushimi Inari Shrine is a Shinto shrine dedicated to the deity Inari, the god of agriculture. It is located in the Fushimi ward of Kyoto, Japan. This shrine is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. The shrine is situated at the base of a mountain at an elevation of 233 meters above sea level, which is also named Mount Inari. Along the 4-kilometer path around the base of the mountain, there are many smaller shrines that can be visited on foot. In ancient times, the Japanese worshipped Inari for patronage and prosperity in work and business, and this faith continues to this day. The numerous torii gates at this shrine are all donations from companies, shops, and factories in Japan, with each gate inscribed with the name of its donor.
