Kinkakuji Temple is a famous World Heritage Site. Its official name is Rokuon-ji Temple (Kitayama Rokuon Zen Temple), but the Shariden and Kinkakuji with their gorgeous gold leaf is extremely famous😊
I somehow feel auspicious, so I always go there during New Year's😄
Kinkakuji Temple is not only Kinkakuji, but also the garden that conveys the appearance of the time to the present, including Kyokochi Pond and Kinkakuji, is a magnificent garden that represents the Pure Land.
Other sights dot the large grounds that make use of the topography of Kitayama, such as Rikushu no Matsu, one of the three great pines of Kyoto, where Yoshimitsu Ashikaga's bonsai was moved, Ryumon Falls, which represents the Dragon Gate, Hakuhebi no Tsuka, Sekkatei, and Fudodo.
A must-see spot for your trip to Kyoto♪ Follow the Kinukake-no-michi road to Ryoan-ji Temple, Ninna-ji Temple, and more🤗
📍Location: 1 Kinkakuji-cho, Kita-ku, Kyoto City
Get off at "Kinkakuji-michi" on the Kyoto City Bus
🕰️Opening hours: 9:00-17:00
