[Kyoto | Gion] If you want to walk through a Kyoto-style streetscape, try Hanamikoji Street or Gion Shirakawa

Gion is synonymous with Kyoto.
Hanamikoji-dori, south of Kawaramachi-dori, retains the traditional scenery that is so typical of Gion.
*Hanamikoji-dori is a road that runs from north to south.

What I recommend is to head north on Hanamikoji-dori from Kawaramachi-dori, then turn west at the intersection on Shinbashi-dori.
I think you'll hit a spot called "Gion Shirakawa."

There's a canal running through it, and the view of the stone pavement and townhouses is very picturesque!
In spring, the cherry blossoms bloom, so it looks like a beautiful landscape.
But be careful, as there will be a lot of tourists as well.

The narrow road called "Kiridoshi" is very charming, and even just taking a short walk around this area will give you a variety of scenery.

I dream of having tea at "Gion Komori Sweets" near this intersection someday.

Please note that Hanamikoji-dori is of course also a road with cars and places where people live, so please be mindful of your manners. (There was also a signboard.)
