Jingo-ji

Famous for its beautiful autumn leaves
and the impressive Jingo-ji Temple
Jingo-ji and Takao Temple
have some of the best autumn leaves in Kyoto.
The temple is about 1,200 years old
and is located on a small mountain above the city.
One of the special features of this temple
is a viewing platform where you can buy small clay plates
called Kawarake which are thrown down from the mountain
to purify one's karma.
The area also has two other famous temples
that you can explore if you have time to spare.
