📍 What is Entoku-in?

Entoku-in, located in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, is a sub-temple of Kodai-ji Temple, and is known as the place where Toyotomi Hideyoshi's wife, Kita no Mandokoro (Nene), spent her later years. Highlights include the garden relocated from Fushimi Castle and Hasegawa Tohaku's sliding door paintings (reconstructed paintings). In particular, the dry landscape garden in the north has been designated as a national scenic spot and strongly retains the atmosphere of the Momoyama period.

Entoku-in offers a special opportunity to experience creating a dry landscape garden. By placing the stones yourself and drawing sand patterns, you can experience the depth of Japanese gardens.
