Kyoto Imperial Gardens - Enjoy cherry blossoms in spring, a vast imperial garden

#Kyoto Sakura

#京都御园 covers a vast area, with the Emperor's Palace as its center. It is a royal park where successive emperors have lived for more than 500 years. It is also a famous cherry blossom viewing spot in Kyoto.

The Kyoto Imperial Garden is rectangular in shape and has many entrances, covering two subway stations, namely Imadegawa Station next to the Konoe Residence, and Marutamachi Station next to the Kan'in Palace. It is basically free to visit, except for the Kyoto Sento Imperial Palace, which requires prior application.

Every spring from late March to early April, about 1,000 cherry trees, including weeping cherry trees and sato-zakura trees, are in full bloom. Among them, the ito-zakura trees in the Konoe Residence ruins are particularly famous. The ito-zakura trees have thin branches and light pink flowers. The sight of clusters of cherry blossoms swaying in the wind is very elegant and beautiful. In addition, the walking path with about 60 weeping cherry trees is also a must-see.
