Nijō Castle - The Jewel of Kyoto

Nijō Castle (二条城) is a true gem of Kyoto and a symbol of the Tokugawa shogunate era! 🏯

- What it is: A historic castle built in 1603, once the residence of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

- Ninomaru Palace: Lavish interiors adorned with paintings and "singing floors" (nightingale floors) that creak to protect against uninvited guests. 🎶
- Gardens: Seiryū-en and Honmaru — perfect for contemplation in any season. 🌳
- Observation deck: Offers panoramic views of Kyoto and the castle walls. 📸
- Admission and hours:
- Admission: 1300 yen (adult ticket).
- Hours: 8:45 AM–5:00 PM (last entry at 4:00 PM). Closed December 26–31.
