Unseen Kyoto

Let’s go and explore unseen Kyoto!

First, we walked around Kyoto Kawaramachi. Most people come here for shopping, enjoying delicious Japanese food, and experiencing the mix of traditional and modern streets. But I want to share some hidden places in Kawaramachi.

(Picture 1-4)I found Nishiki Tenmangū, a Shinto shrine. It’s a very beautiful and peaceful place. I saw some Japanese people visiting the shrine to worship. After leaving the shrine, we went to a matcha and sweets restaurant. The matcha and traditional Japanese desserts were really nice — a good place to take a rest. And nearby there is Ramen restaurant name is Kirameki no tori, nice taste and so local.

(Picture 5-8)The next day, we visited the Kyoto Imperial Palace, which is located inside Kyoto Gyoen National Garden. It’s a very large park where people come to exercise, walk, and ride bicycles. Since it requires a lot of walking, I recommend visiting in winter. After that we had lunch at Ootaya Ebusugawa, nice Japanese food!
