Kyoto Imperial Palace, where the emperor resided until the Meiji Restoration.

Previously open only in spring and autumn,
it has been open year-round since 2016,
drawing in many visitors from both Japan and abroad.

I came here to see the cherry blossoms at Honmanji Temple and to see the weeping cherry blossoms at the Kyoto Imperial Palace.

While searching for weeping cherry blossoms in the spacious grounds,
I came across a particularly crowded spot.

Here, too, many foreigners were renting kimonos and taking photos.

It was hard to get in the way of people, so I had to scramble for photos.

The Konoe Residence in Kyoto Gyoen National Garden has long been a popular spot in Kyoto for its thread cherry blossoms.

The residence no longer exists, but
the cherry blossoms falling from above like threads were beautiful.
