Ginkaku-ji (Silver Pavilion, Kyoto)

#mytraveldiary

Though it’s called the Silver Pavilion, Ginkaku-ji is unadorned with silver — and yet it’s incredibly elegant. The temple exuded quiet refinement, embodying the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi: beauty in simplicity and imperfection. The gardens here are exceptional, especially the dry sand garden with its perfectly sculpted cone. I wandered the moss garden trails, surrounded by lush greenery and gentle streams, feeling a deep calm. From the hillside, I looked down at the temple nestled among trees, a scene of understated beauty. Ginkaku-ji is less about grandeur and more about subtle grace. #mytraveldiary
