Kawai Shrine, a branch shrine of Shimogamo Shrine in Kyoto, is known for enshrining Japan's greatest goddess of beauty and is a popular spot for women seeking beauty. 💓

Here, you can experience something a little special. Bring your everyday cosmetics and you can draw your ideal face on a mirror ema (votive tablet) and write your wish on the back. This allows you to pray for not only external beauty but also inner beauty. The sight of so many votive tablets on display was truly magnificent.

In addition, the shrine grounds sell a drink called "Bijin-sui" (beautiful water), a refreshing drink made with quince fruit. It's said to be good for beauty and health, so we recommend enjoying a glass after praying.
