It has a history of over 1,000 years, making it a prestigious festival!

This post is about the Yoiyama, the first festival of the year, which is one of several events.

An event where you can enjoy the floats and hoko while the Gion music plays.

The sight of lanterns hung from each float and lighting up the city of Kyoto with soft lights is a wonderful Japanese night view!
