When exploring La Digue in the Seychelles, a visit to this splendid beach is essential. Located within L'Union Estate—a nature reserve on the island's west coast—you'll find the beach entrance. A 150 Seychelles Rupee fee (about £8) grants you a numbered wristband as payment proof. After walking a bit further, you'll emerge through the trees onto a breathtaking beach with soft, white sand. The shore stretches roughly 2 kilometers (1.2 miles), and with the tide, massive, ancient granite boulders may disrupt the coastline. The clear, turquoise waters make it easy to spot fish nearby. For those interested, small glass-bottomed boats are available, offering a chance to see turtles offshore. High tide might block access around the boulders, but a path runs behind the sand through the shrubs and connects the entire beach. Several spots along the path provide resting areas with stalls for refreshments and shopping. The beach's informal setting lets you relax wherever you wish by bringing your towels and settling in a chosen spot. No matter your schedule or plans, this highly photogenic, tropical paradise offers a truly enjoyable experience.
