Hikone Castle in Shiga Prefecture

Hikone Castle in Shiga Prefecture is famous for its mascot character Hikonyan.

It is especially recommended to visit during the autumn leaves and cherry blossom seasons.

I have been there several times, and Hikonyan sometimes greets you at the entrance, and you can take photos with him.

You have to climb very steep steps to reach the castle tower.
