Huaguanglou, also known as "Guzhen Jianglou", is located at the southern end of Shanghua Street, Langzhong City, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. It is an iconic building of the ancient City of Langzhong.Huaguanglou was built in the Tang Dynasty, and the existing building was rebuilt in the sixth year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1867). The building is built on a 6-meter-high stone platform foundation, with a height of 36 meters, a total of 4 floors, a triple eaves and a mountain-style roof, and a construction area of 150 square meters.
Huaguanglou is not only a symbol of the ancient city of Langzhong, but also has important historical and cultural value.It has been destroyed by fire many times, but it has been rebuilt every time.In the 19th year of Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty (1839), Huaguanglou was destroyed in a fire. It was rebuilt again in the 6th year of Tongzhi (1867) and renamed "Huaguanglou". Huaguanglou is known as the "First Floor of Langyuan" and is the earliest and most magnificent building built in the existing pavilions in Langzhong.
The architectural style of Huaguanglou is unique and has a deep cultural heritage.It is a cross-street gatehouse with a triple eaves and a mountain-style helmet-shaped roof, covered with emerald-green glazed tiles, with complex ridges, and a bead-shaped roof with a positive ridge of up to three meters high. Each floor is equipped with flower windows, built-in sketches of Langyuan buildings, huge plaques hung outside, and built-in poetry plaques for people to admire and sigh. Climbing Huaguanglou, you can overlook Jinping Mountain, look at the Jialing River up close, and experience the wonderful scenery of the mountains, water, and city of Langzhong Ancient City.
In addition, Huaguanglou still retains historical traces.Below Huaguanglou is the largest pier in Langzhong. In ancient times, there was also a pontoon bridge, which was a necessary way to get out of the city and into the city.The Qing Dynasty poet Jin Yulin once wrote in "Ye Deng Huaguanglou": "The sky never sleeps in Chuncheng, and the human language city is like a tide."
