[The mysterious castle floating on the sea] Mont Saint-Michel

I've always wanted to go to Mont Saint-Michel since I saw it on TV as a child!

Mont Saint-Michel means Mount of Saint Michael, and is named after Archangel Michael, one of the great angels in Christianity. 🪽

It began when Bishop Saint Auber built a small chapel following the revelation of Archangel Michael.

[Highlights]

① King's Gate (2nd photo)

The King's Gate is the most interesting of the gates.

It is said that the bridge in front of the gate was connected with chains, and when enemies came, the bridge was raised to prevent invasion.

② Grand Rue (3rd photo)

The main street in Mont Saint-Michel!

There are cute souvenir shops and cookie shops. 💞

③ Saint-Pierre Church (4th photo)

At the entrance to the church, there is a statue of Joan of Arc, who is famous for her role in the Hundred Years' War!

Inside the church, Archangel Michael is enshrined.

④ The affiliated church (5th photo)
The affiliated church has the most presence in the monastery.
The high ceiling and the light coming in through the beautiful stained glass windows
make it very mystical and sacred.

⑤ La Merveille Cloister (6th photo)
Completed in the 13th century as a three-story Gothic structure.
The two columns of the cloister on the top floor
are slightly offset and built to surround the courtyard.

It took me a whole day to walk around it slowly💞
I recommend staying overnight❣️
