Climb high and see the distant view, wandering around Lijiang Ancient Town

Arriving in Lijiang, Yunnan, the beauty of the ancient city is a deeply ingrained charm. This World Heritage site, with its mottled tiled roofs, winding stone alleys, and gurgling waterways, freezes time in the depths of history.

I began my stroll at the entrance to the ancient city. The first thing that caught my eye was the large white stone tablet inscribed with "World Cultural Heritage - Lijiang Ancient Town." The inscription, written in golden calligraphy by Jiang Zemin, was written with vigorous brushstrokes, perfectly complementing the city's rich heritage. Next to the tablet, a wooden waterwheel slowly turned, as if telling visitors the thousand-year story of Lijiang.

Walking through the alleys of the ancient city, I stumbled upon a street lined with colorful paper umbrellas. The umbrellas swayed gently in the breeze, their vibrant colors depicting classical ladies, landscapes, flowers, and birds, adding a touch of poetry and playfulness to this ancient charm.

I climbed the steps up the hill behind the ancient city. Beneath my feet, the ancient houses stretched like a gray wave, layer upon layer, reaching the lush green foothills. Beyond the hill, a row of modern skyscrapers intertwined the past and the present, creating a unique landscape. Looking down from the vantage point, the setting sun shone obliquely on the tiled roofs, each tile shimmering with a warm luster. At that moment, time seemed to stand still, with only the breeze and the distant sounds of ancient Naxi music.

Lijiang Old Town is more than just a tourist destination; it's like a living piece of history, a place you can't help but revisit over and over again.
