The Wucheng Shang Dynasty Ruins are located in Wucheng Village, 44 kilometers southwest of Zhangshu City, on the hilly slopes of the upper Xiaojiang River. Discovered in the autumn of 1973 during the construction of the Wucheng Reservoir, they are the first large-scale Shang Dynasty cultural site discovered in Jiangnan. Archaeologists refer to them as the "Wucheng Culture." The center of the site is located within the earthen wall of Wucheng Village. The discovery of these relics and artifacts provides important material for studying the Shang and Zhou bronze culture in Jiangxi Province. Some of these artifacts and materials are on display at the Zhangshu City Museum.
