Exploring Yishui Grand Canyon: A Subterranean Fantasy World
Beneath Yishui County, Linyi City, Shandong Province, lies a mysterious and spectacular world – the Yishui Underground Grand Canyon. It is a masterpiece sculpted by nature over hundreds of millions of years, and a geological wonder that countless tourists yearn to visit.
The Yishui Underground Grand Canyon was formed during the Ordovician and Cambrian periods, 65 to 230 million years ago, developed from massive karst fissures. The canyon spans 6,100 meters in length, with depths reaching nearly a hundred meters. Currently, 3,100 meters have been developed, making it one of China's renowned super-large karst caves [__LINK_ICON].
Stepping into the Grand Canyon, the first thing you notice is the constant temperature of 17-18℃ year-round, warm in winter and cool in summer, as if entering a natural air-conditioned room [__LINK_ICON]. As you follow the winding passages, colorful lights illuminate stalactites and stalagmites of various shapes. Some resemble sharp swords piercing the ground, others look like Ganoderma lucidum hanging upside down, some are like fairies descending, and still others resemble underwater corals. Under the illumination, they come to life, making one marvel at the uncanny craftsmanship of nature. Within the canyon, over a hundred scenic spots, including "one river, three springs, five waterfalls, and five palaces," unfold sequentially, forming a fantastical subterranean tableau [__LINK_ICON].
The most distinctive feature of the Grand Canyon is the underground dark river rafting experience. This underground river is 1,000 meters long, with clear water and abundant flow. Tourists ride rubber rafts downstream; sometimes the current is gentle, allowing for a leisurely appreciation of the strange rocks on both banks; other times, sharp turns or steep slopes are encountered, causing the raft to bump and splash high, bringing an exhilarating thrill. This project has thus been certified by the Shanghai Grand World Guinness Records Headquarters as "China's longest karst cave rafting."
In addition to its natural landscapes, the Yishui Underground Grand Canyon also offers rich cultural and human experiences. The geological science museum within the scenic area showcases the mysteries of Earth's changes over ten thousand years, allowing visitors to learn abundant geological knowledge while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Furthermore, the "Dreamy Love Corridor" 4D light and shadow show uses digital technology to revive scenes such as lava eruptions and dinosaur roars, creating an immersive "Journey to the Center of the Earth" for visitors.
With its unique geological structure, fantastical natural landscapes, and rich experiential activities, the Yishui Underground Grand Canyon has become a natural classroom for geology enthusiasts and an excellent destination for family trips and leisure vacations. It is like an open history book of Earth, awaiting more people to unveil its mysterious veil and experience the wonder and charm of nature.
