Some say the best travel is to steal a day of leisure from life, packing the grandeur of mountains and waters along with the warmth of everyday life into memories. This weekend, the three of us came to Junan, Linyi, spending a day encountering the picturesque scenery of Tianma Island and feeling the thoughtful warmth of the city of Linyi.

As soon as the car entered the Tianma Island scenic area, the car window seemed like a giant picture frame. In the distance, Tianma Island stood tall and majestic, its mountain shapes like a heavenly horse galloping freely, carrying a heroic spirit. The most refreshing was the air rushing in—fresh, moist, with the fragrance of soil and greenery. Every deep breath felt like a thorough cleansing for lungs long confined to the city. My son excitedly pointed out the window from the back seat: “Mom, look! So many trees, such a big lake!”

Yes, here there are mountains and even more water. The Zhuxi River, like a green jade belt, winds around the magnificent mountains. Mountains and water coexist, combining strength and softness, forming a natural Taiji diagram.

Noon · Yacht Cutting Through Waves, Becoming a “Rivers and Lakes Wanderer” for a Day

The highlight for the child was taking a yacht to the island. We boarded a white yacht, the engine started, and the bow cut through the calm lake, raising white waves. The lake breeze, mixed with water vapor, blew cool and pleasant. My son spread his arms wide, imitating a movie scene, shouting, “I’m the captain!”

Looking back, the Ronghua Grand Hotel was faintly visible behind the green trees on the shore, while Tianma Island ahead became clearer. Mountains reflected in the water, water winding around the mountains; we felt not like tourists but temporary visitors who had stumbled into this fairyland, free and happy.

After landing on the island, we chose to take the cable car up the mountain. As the cable car slowly rose, the entire lake and mountain scenery unfolded beneath us, magnificent beyond words. On the mountain were steep cliffs, ancient stone carvings, and the long-passed story of Yang Miaohui’s resistance against the Jin dynasty in the Southern Song, adding historical depth and chivalrous spirit to the natural beauty.

Our child ran on the flat mountaintop while we quietly stood, watching the clouds roll and the vast blue waves. At this moment, all worries were diluted by the vastness of heaven and earth.

Satisfied and content, we drove back to the Ronghua Grand Hotel we had booked in advance. One detail instantly gave us peace of mind—the hotel had reserved a parking space for us. For families driving themselves, this spared the hassle of finding parking, a feeling of respect and care.

An even bigger surprise awaited in the room. While washing up, we found a small, cute children’s toothbrush quietly placed on the washbasin. This small, unintentional preparation felt like a warm current that instantly touched us. It silently said, “We have thought of you.”
