Guizhou Tang'an Dong Village is a charming tourist destination. Here is an introduction to its scenery and ticket information:
Ticket Information
Tang'an Dong Village does not charge an entrance fee, allowing visitors to enjoy the pristine natural beauty with "zero barriers."
Featured Scenery
- Unique Architecture
- Drum Tower: Standing tall in the center of the village, it is the symbol of Dong villages and serves as a gathering place for meetings and discussions. Its square pyramidal roof, 20 meters high, forms a trio with the opera stage and singing ground, showcasing the unique charm of Dong villages.
- Stilt Houses: Nestled on the mountainside, these wooden houses are built to follow the terrain, appearing suspended and orderly. They are simple yet elegant, remaining sturdy despite the passage of time, carrying the lives and memories of the Dong people.
- Wind-and-Rain Bridges: Scattered throughout the village, these bridges not only shelter farmers from wind and rain but also serve as meeting spots for unmarried Dong youth.
- Gourd Well: A clear spring on the upper slope of the drum tower remains warm in winter and cool in summer, flowing year-round. The Gourd Well is a stone basin used to hold the spring water, carved from bluestone with grooves on both sides, resembling a wooden gourd.
- Stunning Terraced Fields: Along the road from Zhaoxing to Tang'an, picturesque terraced fields stretch across the mountains. These fields are uniquely built with stacked stones. In spring, they resemble mirrors filled with spring water; in summer, the slopes are lush with green seedlings; in autumn, golden rice fills the fields; and in winter, they exude a serene, wintry charm.
- Colorful Culture
- Dong Grand Song: A gem of Dong culture, the Dong Grand Song is a polyphonic, unaccompanied, and conductor-less folk chorus. Its melodious tunes echo through the valleys, bringing a sense of tranquility.
- Traditional Customs: Annual events like the "Sacrifice to Sa Sui" in the first lunar month, the "Liuyueliu Liudong Pipa Song Festival," the "Dong New Year Festival," and the "Sky-Praying Festival" attract many tourists. During the Sky-Praying Festival, villagers gather in front of the drum tower for rituals to pray for favorable weather and abundant harvests.
