London: Antiquity and Modernity

London has a history that stretches back over 2000 years and many of London’s most iconic ancient buildings date from almost 1000 years ago such as Westminster Hall and theTower of London. London is also a vibrant modern city with iconic modern buildings such as The Shard. London is an expensive city but it is possible to visit London on a budget. One of the most expensive things in London can be Public Transport, so try travelling after 9:30 on weekdays for cheaper travel or consider just travelling by bus and tram rather than using the Metro system as this is cheaper too. It may take a little bit longer to get to different places by bus rather than using the Metro but you have the added advantage of being able to take in the sites and sounds of London from the top of the iconic red double-decker buses!
