A Stunning View of London from Above

Perched atop 20 Fenchurch Street, the Sky Garden offers one of the best free panoramic views of London. I booked my time slot online (recommended, as entry is timed and popular), arriving just before sunset to catch the city in both daylight and golden hour glow.
After a quick security check, the elevator ride whisked me up to the 35th floor. The doors opened to a lush indoor garden — tropical plants framing floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over landmarks like the Shard, Tower Bridge, and the Thames.
Wandering through the terraced greenery felt like stepping into a greenhouse in the sky. There's a casual café and bar where I grabbed a coffee and sat by the window, watching the light fade and the city lights flicker on. The 360° view includes a small open-air terrace (weather permitting), which gave me a breath of fresh air and even better photo ops.
Though not as high as the Shard, the Sky Garden's vibe is relaxed and welcoming. It's perfect for travelers wanting a scenic break without spending a penny. I left feeling refreshed and a little more in love with London.
**Tip:** Try booking a late afternoon slot to enjoy both daylight and night views. Entry is free, but food and drinks are extra.
