Kuang Si Waterfall in Laos

The waterfall is about 30 kilometers from our hotel in Luang Prabang, which took roughly an hour by car.
Initially, we considered taking a taxi, but upon checking after arriving locally, we found that taxis were quite expensive. We learned that booking through what seemed to be a local travel agency (for trips starting the next day or later) would be cheaper, but unfortunately, it was already past their closing time.
We noticed a sign in our hotel room by the bed that mentioned a trip to Kuang Si Waterfall for 120,000 Kip. When we inquired at the front desk, they told us to wait in the lobby at 11 a.m. the next morning for a pickup.
So, the next morning, we boarded a shared van that came to pick us up and successfully made it to the waterfall! The van made stops at various hotels and pickup points along the way, so the trip there took a little over an hour.
The road included some unpaved, bumpy sections, so if you’re prone to motion sickness, it’s a good idea to bring some medication. (I personally enjoyed it as if it were an amusement ride, so I was fine! 🙆♀️)

Upon arrival, we had two and a half hours of free time, and the same van took us back to the hotel afterward.

It rained while we were on our way, but luckily, the rain stopped, and the sun came out during our visit. 🙏
The waterfall was beautiful, but the lush green scenery was truly a healing experience.
