Dragon Boat Festival short holiday log: Biological Island and Cultural Museum
The rain in Guangzhou kept pouring nonstop. With no special plans for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, I went to stay one night at the Xianglan Guanzhou Hotel that I had been longing to visit for a long time~ There were various packages on Trip.com, and I finally chose a twin room with breakfast and afternoon tea for 1288 yuan. An extra 200 yuan was charged for the Dragon Boat Festival. When I read that the room was 60 square meters, I had no concept of the size, but when I saw it, it was indeed very large—three times the size of where I usually rent. It felt just right for a family of four~ The balcony of the room was great, facing our beloved Shuangyashan University, with the archway and library clearly visible!
The hotel layout is very stylish, with beautiful silk designs inside and outside the room, and many colorful parrots. The whole day on the island and inside the hotel was filled with crisp bird songs. Unfortunately, the rain just wouldn’t stop, and both the sunset and sunrise were hidden in the mist~ After checking in, I immediately went to swim in the infinity pool. The constant temperature pool was indeed cold; even when my body warmed up, every time I breathed, my head still felt very cold >_< Luckily, I swam early, and when I got out, it was just the two of us siblings~ The edge of the pool with the best view was too deep; at 165 cm, I really couldn’t touch the bottom. My old knees are indeed not tolerant of the cold, and they kept aching slightly and feeling icy cold at night. In the end, I remembered I had a joint patch in my bag to save myself… On the same floor, there was also a gym and yoga room, which were very appealing to me.
I went early to Xiaozhou Village hoping to eat pigeon, but encountered a dragon boat rice banquet, so I simply had a meal at a nearby shop~ In the evening, back in the room, I spaced out for a bit, and my second stomach started to feel hungry, so I dragged my brother to the lobby to buy cake and found a buy-one-get-one-free deal!!!
I found that pulling the curtains in the hotel and sleeping makes you lose track of time. If it weren’t for the buffet breakfast, I could have slept until checkout! In the afternoon, I took a stroll around the new Cultural Museum building, which was indeed very large. My dad said this is the real way to sit I reached 10,000 steps, then went home and immediately took a nap until dinner time. Eating and sleeping is the must-have for a holiday.
I immediately bought a two-night consecutive stay package on Trip.com again! Looking forward to lying down and spacing out next time…
