How to worship to make it happen at Khao Long Men

In Longmen – Kunming, there are pavilions, temples, statues of deities and Buddhas, and sacred objects scattered along the cliffs and rock caves carved by the Chinese during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.



Important deities and statues found at Longmen, Kunming
1. Buddha statues (佛像)
• There are numerous seated and standing Buddha statues in the caves carved into the cliffs.
• Most are local Chinese Buddhist sculptures. (Ming-Qing Art)
2. Taoist Deity (Sanqing Pavilion)
• Because the mountain has a pavilion called "Sanqing Pavilion" (三清阁),
• Statues of the Three Pure Deities (Sanqing Pavilion) are found:
• Yuanshi Tianjun (元始天尊)
• Lingbao Dinjun (灵宝天尊)
• Taishang Laojun (太上老君 or Laozi)
3. Dragon God / Stone Dragon (龙雕像)
• "Longmen" literally means "Dragon Gate."
• Therefore, there are many dragon carvings. Some caves feature double dragons.
4. Stone Gates + Engraved Characters (石刻碑文)
• Ancient Chinese characters, prayers, and proverbs related to Buddhism and Taoism are inscribed on these tablets.
• Many are carved at the entrance of caves or in the passageways.
5. Guardian Deities (守护神像)
• Some stone statues of gatekeepers and warrior deities (武神) have been found.
• They resemble the "door guardians" in Chinese temples.
