This stone arch bridge spanning the Three Gorges Stream
was originally built in the 7th year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era of the Northern Song Dynasty,
making it over 500 years old now 🎉
Originally called the Three Gorges Bridge, it was rebuilt during the Tongzhi period of the Qing Dynasty
and is one of the oldest existing stone arch bridges in China✨
📐Bridge Data Revealed:
- Single-span stone structure design
- Length: 24.2 meters
- Width: 4.1 meters
- Height: 9.8 meters
- Stream depth: 30-40 meters
Standing on the bridge, the visual effect is absolutely stunning!

🔹The bridge body uses 105 granite blocks, each weighing about 1 ton
🔹Large stones are precisely interlocked using mortise and tenon joints
🔹Special building materials made of glutinous rice paste + tung oil + lime
🔹"Coffin stones" are set at the bottom to buffer water flow

📜Rich Historical Details:
The arch still retains inscriptions from the Song Dynasty,
clearly recording the construction time:
"In the 7th year of the Dazhong Xiangfu era of the Song Emperor" (1014)
It also includes the names of the craftsmen!
Chen Zhifu, Zhi Wang, and Zhi Hong, three Jiangzhou artisans
