Just returned from an amazing long weekend in Lyon, France, and I can’t recommend it enough! 🇫🇷

📍 Stay – I based myself at Hôtel Campanile Lyon Centre Gare Perrache Confluence. Super convenient location next to the station, making it easy to explore both the historic heart of Lyon and the trendy Confluence district. Comfortable rooms, friendly service, and a great starting point for walking the city.

🍴 Food – Lyon is famous as the culinary capital of France, and it did not disappoint! From classic bouchons serving rich Lyonnaise dishes to riverside cafés perfect for people-watching, every meal was an experience. Don’t miss local specialties like quenelles and cervelle de canut.

🏛 Things to Do –
• Wander the cobbled streets of Vieux Lyon, a UNESCO World Heritage site, full of Renaissance charm.
• Climb up to Basilica of Notre-Dame de Fourvière for breathtaking city views.
• Stroll along the Rhône and Saône rivers, especially at sunset.
• Dive into culture at the Musée des Confluences, with its striking modern architecture.

✨ Highlight – The mix of old and new in Lyon is incredible. One moment you’re exploring centuries-old traboules (hidden passageways), the next you’re in a vibrant modern quarter with art, shopping, and nightlife.

Lyon truly has it all – history, culture, food, and atmosphere. Perfect for a weekend break or a stop on a longer French adventure. I’ll definitely be back!
