I am here @Ho Tung Library, Macau

#MacauAttractions

Walking up the alley near the Senate Square in Macau, the hustle and bustle is gradually left behind, and a three-story Western-style building with yellow exterior walls and green window frames comes into view. This is the largest public library in Macau - the Ho Tung Library.

The whole building is painted in bright colors, and the arched windows on the facade are arranged neatly, presenting a strong European style; the interior is a different world. The "Ho Tung Library" on the second floor is elegantly furnished. The couplets, wooden chairs, marble tables and ancient rare books on the walls create the atmosphere of a classical Chinese study.

The predecessor of the Ho Tung Library was the private villa of Ho Tung, a well-known entrepreneur and philanthropist in Hong Kong and Macau. His family donated the house in accordance with his will to establish a public library with a collection of Chinese books.

The house is filled with the fragrance of books and the outside is full of greenery. The towering ancient trees, fountains and rockery complement each other, giving this historic building a natural look. Walking in the quiet courtyard, you will feel like you are in a paradise. This is not only a place for reading and studying, but also a good place for many citizens to relax.

Address: No. 3, Rua do Campo, Macau
