Andaz Kitchen in Macau: Portuguese and Fusion Cuisine

Andaz Kitchen in Macau specializes in Portuguese and Macanese cuisine, offering a fusion of Chinese and Portuguese dishes alongside a small selection of Chinese dishes, catering to diverse tastes. 👍

🏖️ Environment/Facilities:
Upon entering the restaurant, the open kitchen is immediately visible. The floor is adorned with Portuguese mosaic tiles, and the walls feature ceramic plates with Chinese and Portuguese-style patterns, creating a European ambiance and a visual experience! Additionally, the restaurant provides attentive service, with friendly and polite staff. 🤗

Dining Experience 🍽️

❇️ Pre-meal Bread ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The bread is incredibly soft.

❇️ Octopus Salad with Black Garlic Vinegar and Roasted Bell Peppers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The dish is refreshingly light, with the octopus 🐙 being tender and chewy, making it an excellent appetizer.

❇️ Signature Spicy Grilled Chicken with Fries ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The chicken itself is not spicy, featuring crispy skin and tender meat, even the chicken breast is moist. Paired with the spicy sauce, it’s incredibly flavorful. 👍 However, the fries are average and slightly greasy. The dish was so delicious that we ordered an additional half chicken 😂 and swapped the fries for mashed potatoes, which tasted even better. The grilled chicken at Andaz Kitchen is currently the best Portuguese-style chicken I’ve tried. 👍

❇️ Short Rib Tempura with Osmanthus Sweet and Sour Sauce ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This fusion dish features fully cooked beef that remains tender. The highlight is the sauce—the osmanthus sweet and sour sauce is refreshing and balances the greasiness of the tempura, making for a delightful combination.

❇️ Lobster Seafood Rice 🥘⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a luxurious dish meant for 2-3 people, priced at MOP828 🤩. The rice doesn’t contain lobster but includes a large red prawn (red prawns are considered premium), along with mussels, squid, large shrimp, and clams. The rice is cooked in crab broth, resulting in a rich flavor. While tasty, I personally find the value for money to be average.

❇️ Portuguese Egg Tart ⭐️⭐️⭐️
A complimentary dessert served after the meal. It’s crispy but slightly too sweet.

💰 Average Cost per Person: Approximately MOP300
📍 Address: 6th Floor, North Wing, Andaz Hotel, Macau
