Wanzhu Garden, also known as Zhang Family Garden, was once the private garden of Zhang Huaizhi, the then-military governor of Shandong Province. Located west of Baotu Spring Park, Jinan's renowned "World's No. 1 Spring" scenic area, it covers 12,000 square meters and boasts three courtyards, 13 courtyards, 186 houses, five bridges, four pavilions, a garden, and renowned springs such as Wangshui Spring, Donggao Spring, and Baiyun Spring. The front, east, and west courtyards are arranged in a "product" shape, creating a complex of ancient buildings that blends architectural features of Beijing's imperial palaces, southern courtyards, and Jinan's quadrangle courtyards.
To the west of the courtyard lies the garden. In the southwest corner of the garden lies the White Cloud Spring. The spring gushes out into a stream, over which a bridge, upon which a pavilion, rests. The streambank is lined with gracefully carved rocks, and the scenery changes with every step. North of the spring stands a pavilion, named "White Cloud." It spans three rooms and faces south, with glass doors and windows, creating a spacious and bright space where one can enjoy tea and admire the scenery. To the west of the pavilion, a curved corridor leads to a small pavilion at its end, containing a clear pond. The garden is dotted with thousands of bamboos, lush flowers and trees, and verdant grass. Although small, the garden offers a broad view, a sense of grandeur within its smallness, creating a sense of openness and freshness.
Jinan has a temperate monsoon climate with obvious monsoons and distinct four seasons: dry and rainy spring, warm and rainy summer, cool and dry autumn, and cold and snowy winter.
