Not Male 🏋️‍♂️ But Malé 😍

#beachvacation

Malé is the capital and largest city of the Maldives, situated on one of the atolls in the archipelago.🏝️

It is a bustling urban center in contrast to the remote resort islands that the Maldives is famous for. 🏙️It's a small, densely populated city but serves as the country's economic and political hub. Visitors to Malé can explore its colorful markets, historic sites like Hukuru Miskiy (Old Friday Mosque), and the President's Palace. The city is also home to the Maldives' main international airport, making it the entry point for many tourists.🛬

Despite its small size, Malé offers a glimpse into the local Maldivian way of life and culture, and it's a place where you can experience both the traditional and modern aspects of this island nation.🧕

Tips and Tricks ⁉️

💸It's a good idea to bring some US Dollars with you when traveling to the Maldives. Upon arrival at the airport, you can exchange a small amount into Maldivian Rufiyaa to cover minor expenses on the local islands. If you keep the exchange 🧾, you'll have the option to convert any remaining Rufiyaa back to your foreign currency at the airport when departing the islands.

👍Pro's of Exchanging to the local currency (Maldivian Rufiyaa - MR):
- You might get better rate when paying in cash. Rufiyaa is less valuable then Dollar. So while you can pay exact price in local currency, people usually will round up the exchange rate for you to pay in foreign currency. (because of cost to exchange it to the local currency)🏧
- Local currency will be accepted in touristy and non-touristy places across the country.
- It is easier to withdraw than foreign currencies. 💵💶💷

👎Con's of Exchanging to the local currency (Maldivian Rufiyaa - MR):
-If you have an amount that you wish to exchange back to USD and you haven't saved the receipt 🧾. You might lose up to 15% in a exchange through locals who may offer their services. 📉
- You me might get overcharged easily if you don't pay attention to exchange rates. 😥
