The blue of the Maldives cannot be captured in photos.

I've always wanted to go to the Maldives, but I never thought I would go in this way.
As an experienced scuba diver, I've had many opportunities to go on liveaboard trips in the Maldives, but for various reasons, I never went.
This time, I went to the Maldives for freediving, something I've never done before. I was actually quite afraid of water. Even after I became proficient in diving, I still didn't feel safe in the sea without my diving gear. I was curious to see if I could overcome my nervousness and freedive in the sea.
I went to Guraidhoo Island, where a professional dive shop on the island provided a 6-day, 5-night all-inclusive package with meals, accommodation, and an AIDA Level 1 freediving course. We went out to sea every day to different dive sites, where we saw nurse sharks, rays, sea turtles, and dolphins.
The most exciting part was learning to freedive. It was indeed much easier without scuba gear. It was also very relaxing to have everything arranged for me. All I had to do every day was go diving, eat, take photos, eat, and sleep.
The crystal-clear sea and the blue of the Maldives are so captivating that once you've been there, you'll start planning your next trip.
