📍Marrakech, Morocco
Marrakech is a city of contrasts — buzzing souks and quiet courtyards, ancient walls and rooftop bars, spices, stories, and sunsets. From sunrise calls to prayer to late-night tagines under the stars, every corner bursts with colour and life.
🧿 The Heart of the Medina
We dove headfirst into the Medina, a maze of narrow alleyways where scooters whizz past spice stalls, leather slippers hang from doorways, and the scent of orange blossom fills the air. We got happily lost exploring souks, picking up ceramics, argan oil, and handwoven baskets.
🌴 Peace in the Riads
After the noise and colour of the street, stepping into a riad (a traditional Moroccan house) felt like entering another world — tiled fountains, palm trees, and birdsong echoing off cool walls. Our stay was a slice of serenity.
🎨 Jardin Majorelle & Yves Saint Laurent Museum
We spent a morning at Jardin Majorelle, a lush garden painted in deep blues and greens, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent. The neighbouring museum showcases the designer’s connection to Morocco — a stylish contrast to the old-world medina.
🍊 Rooftops & Tagines
By evening, we climbed to a rooftop for tea with a view over the Koutoubia Mosque, its minaret glowing at golden hour. Dinner was a fragrant chicken tagine with preserved lemon, served under lanterns as the city lights flickered below.
