I've always wanted to go to Kamikochi!

Kamikochi, a magnificent view of silence and clear water.

At an altitude of about 1,500m, at the gateway to the Northern Alps, you are greeted by nature and a mysterious atmosphere. The clear waters of the Azusa River, the Hotaka mountain range as seen from Kappa Bridge, and Taisho Pond in the morning mist... everything was breathtakingly beautiful.

Because it is a nature conservation area where cars cannot enter, the only sounds you can hear are the wind and water. The well-maintained promenade that even beginners can enjoy is also attractive.

From spring to early summer, there are fresh green leaves, and in autumn, there are golden autumn leaves. This place changes its appearance with each season, and is full of charm that makes you want to go back again!

📍Location: Azumi Kamikochi, Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture

🚗Access: Private cars are not allowed. From Matsumoto Station, take a bus or taxi (via Sawando Parking Lot/Hirayu Parking Lot). The shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes (increased frequency during peak seasons), and costs 1,500 yen one way.

📌Recommended spots: Kappabashi Bridge, Taisho Pond, Myojin Pond, Tokuzawa

👔Clothing: Sneakers or trekking shoes + cold weather gear and rain gear (the altitude is high and there are temperature differences)

Choose a route based on the distance you want to walk and your purpose, and there are routes that can be enjoyed by beginners and those with good walking skills alike.
