Shaolin Temple in Songshan, Henan Province is the ancestral home of the Zen sect of Chinese Buddhism. It is known as "the ancestral home of the Zen sect and the most famous temple in the world". It is located in Dengfeng City, Henan Province. It has been a gathering place for scholars since ancient times. Emperors, generals, literati, eminent monks, and martial artists of all dynasties have left behind a large number of famous places and historical sites. Shaolin Temple is world-famous for its Shaolin Kung Fu, which has been developed and researched by successive Shaolin monks.
