Kamikochi's Scenic Spot: Myojin Pond

Myojin Pond is one of the must-visit spots in Kamikochi. Although it takes about an hour and a half on foot from Kappa Bridge, the trail is a gentle hiking course, making it accessible even for beginners. While sneakers are recommended, many visitors were also seen wearing sandals.

The Hotaka Shrine Okumiya located at Myojin Pond is a popular photo spot. Visitors can line up to take pictures and also offer prayers. Since the process of praying can take additional time beyond the length of the line, it’s best to visit with plenty of time to spare.

The trees surrounding Myojin Pond are incredibly beautiful and provide a soothing atmosphere.
