Immersed in red maple leaves

Entsuin Temple (円通院）is a Buddhist temple dedicated to Kannon (觀世音菩薩）and was built in 1647. It is situated next to Matsushima’s (松島）most important Zuiganji Temple (瑞巖寺）in Miyagi Prefecture （宮城県）。It was built to mourn the death of the second son Date Mitsumune (伊達光宗）of local feudal lord Date Terumune （伊達政宗）。He died at the young age of 19。 This temple is one of the best places to watch the fabulous and colorful red maples in Autumn in northeastern part of Japan.
