Explore the hot spring town at Dogo onsen station Matsuyama

Anyone who has watched the anime Spirited Away will probably be familiar with the bathhouse scene that was modeled after this place. There are actually many bathhouses here, but the one modeled after the cartoon had a very long wait, so the lottery came out here instead.

From Hiroshima City, you can take a 1.5-2.5 hour ferry to Matsuyama and then take a train to the onsen area, which takes about 1 hour. The starting fee is around 500 yen, excluding soap and shampoo, but you can buy more.

You can also go out and buy some pomelo juice. If you want to spend money, there is a free footbath with a view on the hill nearby.
