Megijima - Kamikami's island of demons, rumored to be the place where demons live

Megijima, also known as Onigashima, is about a 20-minute boat ride from Takamatsu Port. According to legend, Momotaro came here to fight demons, and there is a statue of a demon at the port of Megijima to welcome tourists taking the ferry.

Afterwards, we went to visit the mysterious cave of Onigashima; there are various legends in the cave, some say it is the hiding place of the devil, it has a very atmospheric atmosphere, but some of the ghosts are very cute! Instead, after passing through the large cave, there is an endless 360-degree unparalleled sea view of the Seto Inland Sea!

When you’re near the pier, be sure to check out the adorable line of seagulls lined up on the breakwater. This art installation is called “Seagull Parking Lot,” and there are as many as 300 seagulls!
