🧭 Best Photo Spot:
There’s actually a beach area to the left of the mosque, which becomes the best photo spot around sunset.
At that time, the mosque’s lights turn on, blending beautifully with the purple-pink sky and golden sunset. It creates a super romantic and mystical vibe ✨
Stand on the breakwater on the left for the best angle — it makes the mosque look like it’s floating on water. The view is stunning and very Instagram-worthy! Best part? It's usually not crowded here, and every shot turns out great. I went all-in with my camera — shoutout to my photographer!
👗 Dress Code:
The Melaka Straits Mosque is not just a beautiful photo spot, it’s also a religious site, so respectful attire is a must:
👩 For women: Headscarf, long sleeves, and long pants — no revealing outfits.
👨 For men: No shorts or sleeveless tops.
👣 You’ll also need to remove your shoes when entering, and keep noise to a minimum.
If your clothing doesn’t meet the dress code, you can rent appropriate attire at the entrance for RM5. The staff are strict about this, so it’s best to come prepared with your own modest outfit and scarf.
🚕 Transportation Tips:
The mosque is a bit outside the city center and Jonker Street:
🚗 About 15 minutes by car if you’re driving.
🚖 If not, grab a taxi or use the Grab app — it’s also around 15 minutes.
