Hidden Gems In the Heart of the City - The Oldest Roman Catholic Church in Victoria, Australia

The St. Francis Church is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in Victoria. Built in 1841, though it doesn't feel as old on the appearance. Located at the heart of the city centre near major shopping malls like Myer, it is as easy to find as it is to miss as it looks quite humble on the outside and doesn't have the grandeur feeling to it like the St. Patrick's Cathedral which is located on the city fringe with easy access by tram. But as soon as you walked inside you'll find history and awesome religious arts and paintings every corner, regardless if you're religious or not you'll be soaked in contentment in the atmosphere. Don't forget to check out the adjacent Catholic Bookstore to cement the experience!
