7D6N Melbourne & Beyond Adventure!

Just wrapped up an amazing week exploring Melbourne, the Great Ocean Road, snowy Mt Buller, Puffing Billy, and adorable penguins at Phillip Island! Here’s our full itinerary and highlights — hope it helps fellow travellers! 🥰

🌙 Day 1 – Arrival
Arrived in Melbourne and stayed near the airport at Maruve Guesthouse (AUD 85.50) — basic, clean, perfect for a night’s rest before our road trip adventure. 🚗💨

🏖️ Day 2 – Great Ocean Road
Checked out at 10am, grabbed lunch and stocked up on BBQ & instant noodles 😆.
By 3pm, checked in at Twelve Apostles Motel & Country Retreat — only 3km from the stunning Twelve Apostles! ($131.08). Sunset at the Apostles was magical. 🌅

🏙️ Day 3 – Back to Melbourne
After checkout, drove back to the city and checked in at Knightsbridge Apartments near the CBD (3 nights, $292.97). Spent the afternoon exploring:
✅ Federation Square
✅ National Gallery of Victoria
✅ Royal Botanic Gardens
✅ Walked along Yarra River & admired local street art 🎨

🎿 Day 4 – Mt Buller Ski Day
Early pickup (5am!) from Doncaster Park & Ride. First time seeing snow — played, took chairlift rides, and enjoyed the winter wonderland! Back by 8.30pm, totally worth the long day. 🏔️❄️

🚂 Day 5 – Puffing Billy Railway
Charming old steam train ride through the forest (8.30am–5.30pm). Afternoon exploring Melbourne city and local cafés. ☕🍰

🐧 Day 6 – Phillip Island
Checked out and drove to Phillip Island.
✅ Lunch & cute Highland cows at Churchill Island
✅ Stayed at NRMA Phillip Island (AUD 99.90, only 15mins from Penguin Parade)
✅ Evening: watched the little penguins return home at sunset — heart-melting! 🐧❤️

⛪ Day 7 – Farewell Melbourne
Lunch at a friend’s house, checked back in at Knightsbridge Apartments (AUD 102.50).
Evening stroll to Queen Victoria Market, Carlton Gardens, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral & quick visit to Crown Casino before an early checkout next morning.

✈️ July 14 – Back to Singapore
Left Melbourne with so many memories, full camera roll & happy hearts! 🥰📸

• Buy food & snacks at local markets to save $$
• Book hotels with free parking if self-driving
• Mt Buller & Phillip Island tours can be long days — bring water & warm clothes
• Penguins come after sunset — stay patient, it’s worth it!
