Yutengping Broken Bridge, also known as Longteng Broken Bridge, was originally named Yutengping Bridge. It is a bridge located in Longteng Village, Sanyi Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan. It was completed in 1907, one year before the opening of the entire longitudinal railway line. The structure is a mixed type of bridge of brick, steel sheet beam and truss beam. However, in 2000, Yutengping Broken Bridge was designated as an earthquake memorial. In 2003, the Miaoli County Government announced that it was designated as a county-level historic site in accordance with the Cultural Heritage Preservation Act.
🏞️It is said that there was a carp spirit causing trouble in Liyutan Lake, so local residents planted poisonous fish vines everywhere and named the mountain on the east side that looks like the back of a Qinglong Yanyue Sword as Guandao Mountain. The intention was to use the Guandao to cut off the fish vines and kill the carp spirit with poison, that is, "Guandao cuts fish vines, fish vines poison carp". Later, local residents thought that the name Yuteng was indecent and changed the place name to "Longteng". Therefore, Yutengping Broken Bridge is also called Longteng Broken Bridge, so it is worth a visit👍🏻
