Escape from the scorching heat into a misty wonderland | Camping in the forest at 2,000 meters above sea level 🏕️

[Temperature Drops as You Ascend the Mountain]
Escape Taipei's sweltering heat with a 4-hour drive! After nearly four hours of driving from Taipei, we finally arrived at Miaoli's Guanwu Forest Park. The breathtaking aroma of the 2,000-meter-high mountain forest greeted us. Arriving at camp, we were stunned—the temperature plummeted from over 30°C to 15°C in an instant! At 5 PM, it was only 15°C 🌬️. We ate hot pot and watched the moon in our down jackets, and shivered in our sleeping bags at night, even though it was below freezing. (It was just me, my son, and my husband snoring 💤) City dwellers finally experienced what "Moonlight Festival" in the mountains truly is ❄️

[Fir Forest Trail]
The next morning, before the mist had lifted, we set out on the Guanwu Waterfall Trail. The entire 1.5-kilometer trail was surrounded by mossy, ancient trees. The winding path descended through the forest, and sunlight streamed through the 30-meter-high trees like divine light 🌲. On either side were towering fir trees, and the air was filled with the moist fragrance of grass. Along the way, we could hear the distant sound of a waterfall drawing ever closer. At the end, a small waterfall cascaded down the rock face. We rested in a pavilion, enjoying the view, feeling completely refreshed by nature. 💧
The uphill climb back down completely wore me down🤣, but the kids still ran around, singing and running, their energy boundless♾️ As a mother, my legs gave out and I leaned on my knees: Are human babies perpetual motion machines?! 🔋

This forest adventure was definitely the coolest and purest Mid-Autumn Festival holiday.

📍Miaoli Guanwu Forest Recreation Area

🌡️ The temperature difference between day and night is over 20°C! Bring your winter gear in September.
📸 Must-see photos: Misty Boardwalk, Giant Sequoia Observation Deck, and the early morning sea of clouds.
